REIKI is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
It can be used for the treatment of humans and animals. Reiki can be defined as spiritually
guided life energy which guides itself and uses its own wisdom to heal. Although spiritual in nature,
it has no religious boundaries and can be used alongside regular medical or psychological treatment.
Reiki is not however, an alternative to conventional medicine. You should always contact your GP in the
case of humans and a vet in the case of animals about acute or infectious conditions and in
connection with problems of an urgent nature.
What happens during a session?
A Reiki treatment is a non-diagnostic, non-Interventionist, non-manipulative
and no pressure is applied.
A session last for up to one hour but may continue for a longer period depending on the patients
needs. Treatment can be carried out in your own home, in our soon to be opened treatment room
at Hallswood Wildlife Reserve or any place of your choosing.
Treatment is usually carried out with the recipient lying down, but can be carried out in the
sitting position , in a comfortable and peaceful environment .
No clothing needs to be removed as Reiki energy passes through materials including plaster casts.
The practitioner places their hands on or over the body.
The recipient automatically draws in only as much healing energy as is needed.
the body will use it in whatever way is most
appropriate at the time.
Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness,
other sensations or nothing at all.
Reiki is deeply relaxing and has a profoundly calming effect that is particularly effective in
relieving stress. It has also been proved to help people with serious ailments
to gain some relief from the pain that accompanies many illnesses.
The treatment may be enhanced if you can rest for a while afterwards and drink plenty of water
to aid the detoxification process. You must be responsive to your body’s needs
Eg: resting if tired and allowing the energy to continue its work in the days following treatment.

Frequency of treatments.
Even one Reiki treatment may make a difference but a course of regular
treatments may be more effective.
These can be weekly fortnightly or less often depending on an individuals needs.
Reiki is about using universal healing energy for all forms of life so it can also be
used safely to treat Horses, pets etc.
Treatment plans can discussed for you or your pets needs. These plans, however
can be changed at any time at your request.
We are willing to help companies by visiting their workplace to carry out treatments.
Reiki can be practiced by anyone and Peter will take anyone through a two day
training course with the necessary attunements to get you started.
The course can be on a one to one or in small groups.
