A little story about our dog Jack. He is a Parsons Jack Russell terrier
and came to us through Hallswood. It was claimed that he bit a young
child's face in the home he came from but we have seen no signs now
of any aggression from him and within 2 weeks of us getting him he
had saved our West Highland terriers life. We have a railway line running
along the bottom of our garden and on the day in question Jack and Abbey
were playing in the garden. I went outside to call them in but Jack would not
come in and just kept running up and down the fence. He then ran up to me,
jumped up and then turning back ran to the fence and started running up
and down again. I thought that maybe there was a rabbit or a cat on the line
so I went and had a look and saw Abbey looking at me from the lines. I called
her but she was confused as to what to do so I got over the fence, after checking
the line, and ran down and grabbed her quickly and got back into the garden.
Without a lie within two minutes a train passed by. Jack is now a valued member
of our family and far from being aggressive he lives his life with us, Abbey, eight
rescued indoor cats a parrot and a chinchilla.
May I just say that Jack was originally re homed to the family who had him from
a re homing centre. Bearing in mind he is a terrier, he was re homed to a family
with two young children where the adults were both at work all day. Where was
the home check in his case and have any more dogs been re homed to the wrong
environment. PLEASE make sure that before getting a pet that the circumstances are
right and remember a dog can live for fifteen years or more .
